Evolution of infrastructure as an asset class: a systematic literature review and thematic analysis

Infrastructure as an asset class has emerged a new field of research stemming from the broader universe infrastructure investment. Since advent global financial crisis, activities in this area are constantly strengthening providing base for budding area. Despite much work done, investment with regard to is still at early stage and scholarly understanding remains restricted fragmented. To get clear rather opaque field, further advancement scientific research, we conduct systematic literature review thematic analysis 89 contributions including 71 journal articles, 15 working papers 3 conference published during 1997–2021. Based on holistic examination identified elucidate current landscape targeting two major aspects: First, descriptively analyse convergence mere assets class. Second, categorize existing into four different perspectives: capital market, performance, policy stakeholder unveil themes sub-themes under each perspective. Furthermore, study attempts suggest various promising future avenues encourage expansion field.
